50th Anniversary Balloon Launch

On Tuesday 30th September there was a balloon launch to mark the start of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations at the school. This involved 50 pupils letting off 50 ballons on a very cold and rainy September morning!

Carrickfergus College has a very special birthday next year and pupils, staff, and friends of the school, past and present, are invited to join our 50th Anniversary Celebrations.

The College first opened its doors in September 1959 and since then has served the local community, providing opportunities for a quality education and so much more.

To celebrate the school’s fiftieth year in 2009/10 we will be hosting a number of special events, to reunite friends and colleagues from years gone by. The celebrations will begin in September 2009 with a terrific ‘Trip Down Memory Lane’, in which anyone who has been connected with the College over the years, is welcome to come along and renew old friendships. Other events will include a Gala Ball and a Spring Concert – further details regarding these will be published later.
