Trip to Aunt Sandra'sJanuary 2009 |
On Monday 19 January, Year 11 Business Studies students went to Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory. Miss Blair took an exciting bunch of Year 11’s on the journey to the candy factory. Talk about children and candy!!!
They were greeted by the owner who was excited about telling the students all about what happens in his factory. The students found out that Aunt Sandra’s Candy Factory is nationally renowned as one of the finest purveyors of hand made chocolates and hand made fudge; not to mention the irresistible Leprechaun’s Gold honeycomb! Their recipes have stood the test of time and their customers have kept coming back for more…
While they were there they managed to make some sweets which were greatly appreciated by the staff in the staff room………
The pupils had the opportunity to see first hand and be part of batch production in the real world. They also saw how a small but very successfully business operates and how by giving tours they could generate even more money for themselves.
The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all and all pupils’ sweet teeth satisfied!!!!! What a trip!!!
