Congratulations to Carrick College pupil Gavin R who has been named in the Belfast squad for this year's Ford Lord's Taverners Inner Cities Under 14 Cricket Cup. The pace bowling all rounder has been named in the 13 man squad for this year's tournament.
Belfast have previously won the tournament on three occasions, the most recent being in 2005. They will again this year play two qualifying round matches against Birmingham and Liverpool to earn a place in the national finals. Belfast play host to Birmingham on Thursday 24 June at Carrickfergus CC, and travel Liverpool on Tuesday 29 June where thay will play at Liverpool CC's Aigburth ground. The group winners qualify to join seven other UK cities in the tournament proper, which as usual takes place at Arundel in West Sussex, from 10-13 August.
