Glentoran Star Visits College
November 2009
Wednesday 11th November saw Irish League and Glentoran footballer Gary Hamilton visit our school. The visit was arranged by Mr Carlisle to promote the Business and Enterprise Specialist School status. During the course of a very busy day Gary had the opportunity to meet and greet many students and spent time with the sixth form students discussing his typical working day and the range of professional and support staff involved behind the scenes within sport.
Although the main focus of the day was for Gary to discuss career opportunities within sport, and football specifically, Gary was happy to take time out to do skills and drill coaching with Year 8 and lead a training session for Year 12.
Overall everyone enjoyed themselves and Gary has already shown an interest in returning to our school in the future. Well done to everyone involved and watch this space...
