Visit from Artist Janet Hackney
October 2009
Janet Hackney an established textile artist held workshops and presented her own work to year 13 and 14 Art A-level pupils. Janet worked as an artist selling her work in London’s Covent garden. She then moved to Africa and has finally settled in Kilkeel in Co. Down where she currently works as an artist and teaches two days a week. Janet showed the pupils the technique of batik, appliqué, free stitching and many more textile processes.
