Mock Council of Europe 2009

Carrickfergus College pupils Anna Jackson, Catherine Wilson and Jason Allen recently represented the school at the Mock Council of the European Union held in the Senate Chamber, Parliament Buildings, Stormont.
The event was attended by twenty eight schools from across Northern Ireland, representing the 27 member states, the European Commission and the Secretariat General. Our team represented Austria during the debates on the EU's approach to Energy Security, Global Warming and the Financial Crisis
The students really enjoyed participating and learnt much about the importance of intercultural dialogue as each school took on the role of representing one of the twenty seven member states and had to think and present from the perspective of other European countries.
