Aaron Kavanagh is a year 12 pupil at Carrickfergus College. Throughout his time at the College he has demonstrated a keen interest in performing arts, getting involved in the Young Americans Project, starring as Bugsy in our school production of Bugsy Malone and most recently playing the part of Kenicke in Grease.
Aaron also forms part of an entertainment duo who call themselves The Blues Brothers and last year they travelled to London to audition for Britain's Got Talent.
No stranger to audition Aaron, through his drama group 'Revolution', auditioned for a new 6 part drama for BBC blast. The cast of only 4 were decided and Aaron was cast as 'Aloysius Winston Price' in a drama named 'Backstage Story'. Filming took place in April this year and ran for one week. During this time these four young people had unforgettable and valuable experiences, a working knowledge of the acting profession, photo shoots, a 'wet' day and meeting local celebrities.
Most recently Aaron auditioned for the school edition of the famous and enduringly popular musical 'Les Miserables'. Les Mis is being performed at the Mill Theatre in August this year and is being directed by Northern Ireland singing star Peter Corry. Aaron has secured a place in the ensemble for the production with the possibility of a supporting role. He begins rehearsals on 18th June 2010.
