Royal Navy Physical Training Day

Our Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils had a Games session with a difference at the start of the week when the Physical Training Instructors from the ROYAL NAVY made a visit the school.
Boys in Years 9 and 10 were taken through a rigorous training circuit, focussing on motivation at work, setting their own personal goals and how they should be challenging their own achievement. “Paddy” as he become known to the boys, talked to the boys about how he had always wanted to become a Physical Training Instructor. To achieve his goal he got accepted into the Royal Navy, worked extremely hard and achieved his goal. The boys were extremely impressed by his story and took on board everything “Paddy” explained, which raised the bar for Boys achievement in school even further.
Our Year 11 GCSE PE girls and boys participated in the afternoon session. They were taught about life in the Royal Navy and the skills that are required to succeed, as well as job prospects and the potential to “move up the ladder”.
All in all a very enjoyable and successful afternoon for the pupils.
