Comenius is a school based project (involving approx 80 pupils from Carrickfergus College) sponsored by the British Council, which tries to help teachers and pupils to:
- Generate a higher degree of cultural awareness
- Forge links with partner schools in Europe
- Gain insight in to the lifestyles of our counterparts across Europe
- Increase communication, ICT and other subject skills
- Be better informed as European citizens
- Have the opportunity to participate regardless of academic ability
Czech-born theologian and philosopher Johann Amos Comenius (1592-1670) was one of the founding fathers of modern education who believed in bringing education to all.
