DOUBLE AWARD SCIENCE
Double Award Science is a rewarding subject which covers the areas of physics, chemistry, biology and astronomy in a broader and deeper way than single award science. Its value is twice that of other GCSEs, as students will receive two GCSE grades at the end of two years.
Double science in the College has
a really good track record for results, with our results being well above
the Northern Ireland average for similar schools.
The course in modular, with modules being taken in Year 11, followed by the
terminal exams in year 12. Coursework is an important part of the syllabus;
it is assessed investigative work worth 25% of the final mark.
Double Award Science is an important subject to choose for GCSE if you are considering following careers in many areas, such as these:
