History is one of those disciplines described by some as “traditional” subject. However, traditional does not mean “outdated” or “Unimportant”.
The analytical, research and ICT etc skills required by 6th Form History students are exactly those which are essential for success ina wide range of careers in the modern workplace.
What use is History?
It opens the door to many different University courses and to employment. Employers who see that you have a qualification in History know certain things about you. They will know that you have taken on certain key skills which, learnt through History can be applied to all sorts of other situations.They know that:

You have experience in being a group member and/or leader
- You can make sound, informed judgements and decisions
- You understand the difference between reality and propaganda and between fact and opinion.
- You have research skills
- You have ICT skills
