GCSE Art & Design is a two year modular course which aims to nurture and develop creativity and encourage personal expression. During the course pupils can learn to:
- handle a wide range of media and materials
- develop their ideas using the visual language (e.g. colour, pattern, tone, form etc.)
- practice processes and acquire skills (e.g. painting, pottery, computer aided design, textiles etc.)
- learn about the work of other artists, designers and craft workers from our own and other cultures.

The Coursework
The coursework has to be produced in TWO dimensions and THREE dimensions. One unit must have a FINE ART outcome and the other unit must have a DESIGN outcome. The coursework areas are:
