our Department
Welcome to the Technology & Design Department
website.
A general aim of Technology and Design is that it would both reflect and complement
those of the school and it is part of the ongoing plan of the Dept. that we
as a staff would endeavor to achieve this. At Carrickfergus College the strive
for quality is encouraged during the manufacture of products and systems.
However, the products are not viewed
as ends in themselves but rather, the context within which pupils are able
to:

Develop a range of competencies;
- Display flair and creativity;
- Critically evaluate everyday products and systems;
- Acknowledge and gain from the experiences of others ;
- Capitalize on the knowledge and skills from other subject areas;
- Learn logical procedures in problem solving;
- Develop the ability to work collaboratively.
